Installation Echo Speed Feed O0n Stihl
Like most pros, I use a mix of different tools and equipment to get the job done. It doesn't matter what brand, it's all about making sure it's the best for the job.
In this video, I just wanted to share my thoughts on the ECHO Speed Feed 400, using with my STIHL FS 130 trimmer.
Just to recap my own takeaway after using the ECHO Speed Feed 400 for about a month:
Pros
-
It's easy to load
-
Simple to install on the STIHL
-
Easy to know when it needs to be replaced
-
Direction arrows to see inside
Con
-
Can need harder hits to feed the line out
What's your preferred trimmer head and why that one?

What's going on everybody? Tyler here and I just want to do a quick review on the ECHO Speed-Feed 400 Head. Now, I took this head and I put it on a Stihl FS 130 and so far, I like the head.
I went to college to be a teacher, so I was taught to tell the pros before the cons. I like how easy it is to load. It's... I don't know exactly how many feet, but four of these. That's how I measure, every time I load one. I like how simple it was to install on the Stihl trimmer. And I also like on here, hopefully you can see it, but if you bump it, these little marks right here, they wear down and then you can start to tell when you're going to need to replace it. And this is filled with some black diamond line right now, but it's very, very simple to use, which I like. It has some arrows on here. Right there's one, probably hard to see on camera, but then you line them up with the holes and then if you hold it up to sunlight, you can see all the way through it, which means you can feed your line through there and make it even, and then you just wind it up. Pretty simple thing to do.
Now, really the one thing that bothers me or that I don't care for about it is when I bump it seems like I have to do it pretty forcefully. I have to hit it on something hard, pretty hard to get some line to come out. As to where on the original head or your original bump heads that have a little knob in the center, you can just tap it and go. I swear on this one I feel like I have to hit it pretty hard. Again, the guy who helps me, when he uses it, he says as hard as he has to hit it, he feels like he's going to break it, which I've hit it pretty hard, hadn't broke it. It seems pretty durable. He's hit it pretty hard. And like I said, I've only been using it for about a month, so time will tell. I can't speak to the longevity of it. Hopefully I will be able to down the line, as spring and summer continue. But anyway, I hope you enjoyed and let us know your thoughts on the ECHO Speed-Feed Head.
